NANOpheles is a European project that aims to develop nanovectors for the targeted delivery of agents blocking transmission of Plasmodium parasites inside Anopheles mosquitoes. The idea behind the project is to kill the parasites inside the mosquitoes before it infects humans.
The project is lead by IBEC and ISGlobal and counts with the participation of the University of Liège, University of Twete, Instituto de Higiêne e Medicina Tropical from Lisbon and Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (IMBB-FORTH).
NANOpheles is an ERA-NET Cofund EURONANOMED III project: EUROPEAN INNOVATIVE RESEARCH & TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN NANOMEDICINE.
