Deep Dives

The Deep Dives are a “one-stop-shop” with descriptive evidence synthesis on a given malaria topic or research question. They allow malaria professionals to know what research (including operational research) is ongoing on a given topic in malaria – the state of the art and the emerging evidence.

The Deep Dives are performed by searching relevant projects in the MESA Track living database of malaria projects on a given research question. Deep Dives, though similar to systematic reviews of published evidence, have a broader scope of methodologies, and focus not only on published results but also on ongoing research. Selected projects are classified according to research areas, timelines, geographic locations, funding sources, principal institutions, project sites and principal investigators. A descriptive report is then prepared to illustrate the landscape of recent and ongoing research and highlights the key knowledge and funding gaps.
