Countries: Nigeria
Published: 01/01/1980
Authors: L. Molineaux and G. Gramiccia
This publication presents and assesses the results of a major longitudinal study on the epidemiology and control of malaria in the Sudan Savanna. The study was designed to collect baseline data on the epidemiology and dynamics of transmission, evaluate the effects of different types of intervention, and develop and test a mathematical model of malaria transmission. Results are presented in chapters covering control operations, entomology, parasitology, immunology, blood genetics, demography, clinical findings, and the testing of the mathematical model. The book concludes with practical advice for the future of malaria control.
