Following the MESA Forum on HRP2 deletions held in June 2022, MESA has launched an initiative to mobilize and provide peer and technical support on pfhrp2/3 gene deletion surveillance.

The aim of the Community of Practice (CoP) on pfhrp2/3 gene deletions is to create a space for interaction among national malaria programs, researchers, and partners involved in the implementation of surveys for the detection and/or monitoring of deletions.

This CoP will promote information-sharing among stakeholders, benefiting from the diverse expertise of its members in areas such as protocol design, field implementation, laboratory procedures, or policy/guidance.

Among other activities, the CoP will:

  • compile best practices, lessons learned and relevant resources
  • provide updates on new developments and advances
  • coordinate Q&A exchanges with experts
  • organize events
  • enhance connections among members with shared interests

If you want to receive updates from the CoP and participate in conversations, join us by filling this form

And for any queries, contact us at hrp2.mesacop@isglobal.org

This Community of Practice is coordinated by MESA in collaboration with a group of experts, including: Deus Ishengoma (NIMR, Tanzania), Dionicia Gamboa (UPCH, Peru), Eric Rogier (CDC, USA), Khalid Beshir (LSHTM, UK), Bosco Agaba (NMCP, Uganda), Qin Cheng (ADFMIDI, Australia) and Mateusz Plucinski (CDC/PMI, USA).
