Rationale and Abstract
Pactamycin is a natural product isolated from actinomycetes and is expected as a novel malaria drug seed because it has strong antiprotozoal activity against malaria. By creating a new malaria drug seed, the synthesis of the mother skeleton of pactamic acid was planned. This synthetic strategy will be a novel synthetic method of pactamycin that enables various structural developments that have been difficult so far.
