Search for next-generation malaria vaccine
Objectives
The project will conduct a head-to-head infection prevention test to directly compare the vaccine efficacy with the previous vaccine using a mouse model. Next, i) safety test, ii) immunogenicity test, and iii) vaccine efficacy will be conducted as efficacy tests in monkey models.
Towards licensing out, the following pharmacological studies will be conducted. As an activity for out-licensing, a prototype vaccine that leads to out-licensing activities will be used at a parasitology conference held by inviting the person in charge of malaria vaccine development support from PATH and Wellcome Trust. To confirm efficacy pharmacological test and propagation inhibition effect by mouse experiment. To confirm the efficacy of protection against infection in an evaluation of protection against infection by a mouse experiment using a prototype vaccine. Conduct the selection of vaccine specifications.
