Rapid malaria assessments to support appropriately tailored sub-national intervention packages in Burkina Faso
Objectives
The main objective of this project is to provide technical support (by PATH) to the Centre National de Research et Formation du Paludisme (CNRFP) in Burkina Faso in producing a comprehensive report detailing which includes:
- An overview of the current indicators and specific data collection procedures used for malaria surveillance in Burkina Faso;
- The strengths and weaknesses of the current methods, with a particular focus on temporal and geographic resolution and overall data quality and usefulness; and
- Opportunities and threats for using a combination of approaches for integrating new indicators and data collection methods to enable effective sub-national tailoring and monitoring of malaria control approaches.

Rationale and Abstract
This project seeks to contribute to the foundation’s strategic goals focused on strengthening measurement of malaria performance for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB & Malaria and promoting effective and efficient use of resources through the sub-national tailoring of malaria interventions.
