P. vivax serological testing & treatment: a novel intervention to facilitate malaria elimination (SeroTAT)
Objectives
To develop the diagnostic tools and clinical trials evidence to prove that a new public health intervention, Plasmodium vivax Serological Test and Treat (SeroTAT) can facilitate P. vivax elimination in vivax endemic countries world-wide.
Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI), Australia
To achieve the objective, a new class of malaria point-of-care sero-diagnostic test will be developed that can identify those most at risk of recurrent vivax malaria, and prove that treating these people will significantly reduce P. vivax transmission.
