P. vivax Serological Testing & Treatment: a novel intervention to facilitate malaria elimination

Objectives

To develop the diagnostic tools and clinical trials evidence to prove that a new public health intervention, Plasmodium vivax Serological Test and Treat (SeroTAT) can facilitate P. vivax elimination in vivax endemic countries world-wide.

Rationale and Abstract

To achieve our objective, we will develop a new class of malaria point-of-care sero-diagnostic test that can identify those most at risk of recurrent vivax malaria, and prove that treating these people will significantly reduce P. vivax transmission.
