Impact of Community Case Management

Objectives

The main objective of this sub-project is to quantify the effectiveness of CCM on improving access to malaria diagnosis and treatment in Senegal.

Principal Institution

PATH, United States

Principal Investigators / Focal Persons

Irene Kyomuhangi

Rationale and Abstract

While CCM  programs have  been  scaled  nationally  in  Senegal,  there  is  variable  record  of  the  number  of  currently deployed agents de santé communautaire /dispensateurs de santé à domicile, and little accounting of their exact locations. As a result, there is limited evidence on the effectiveness of CCM on improving access to malaria diagnosis and treatment.

Study Design

Observational study design, utilizing a dose-response relation between increasing malaria providers in the community on the outcome of increased diagnosis and treatment
