GiveWell IPTi scoping path
Objectives
The aim of this project is to develop a country-context-specific plan to enable rapid introduction and scale of IPTi
Malaria Consortium in partnership with PATH, received a grant from the Givewell to accelerate the scale-up of IPTi in Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by building upon learnings from Sierra Leone’s IPTi experience, the only country that has fully rolled out IPTi, as well as other ongoing IPTi projects funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UNITAID, and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria across Africa. The scoping phase in Nigeria involved close collaboration with GiveWell and the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP). The scoping activities were implemented at the national and sub-national levels (covering two states) and involved landscaping, strategy creation and launch planning for IPTi entry (roll-out) and scale-up.
