The evolutionary genetics and genomics of disease transmitting mosquitoes
Objectives
The overarching goal of this project is to improve our understanding of mosquito behavior with the aim to identify novel avenues for control. The goals of this research are several fold:
- To improve the understanding of the evolution, population structure and genetic/genomics underlying the biology of disease vector mosquitoes.
- To provide the knowledge needed to develop novel vector control tools.
- To provide the information needed to optimize and safe guard current malaria control tools.
