Rationale and Abstract
Malaria parasites belong to the phylum Apicomplexa and have an apicoplast, a plastid surrounded by a four-layered membrane that is thought to be the degenerated chloroplast that was taken into the cell during secondary symbiosis. By combining a peptide library created from the results of in silico screening and physicochemical methods using this library, the details of the protein-protein molecular recognition mechanism that occurs within the apicoplast will be elucidated through multifaceted analysis.
