Rationale and Abstract
A genetically modified Plasmodium bergii protozoa in which an AirID tag is fused to each of the selected proteins is produced, and the sporozoite is added to human liver cancer-derived cultured cells. After culturing, biotin-labeled interacting proteins are recovered and identified by mass spectrometry. Whether or not the interaction candidate molecule is involved in sporozoite infection is suppressed in cultured cells and its effect on infection is investigated.
