Developing a a novel serosurveillance kit in partnership with Luminex Corp/DiaSorin to support global malaria elimination efforts using the xMAP Technology platform
Objectives
The main objective of this project is to detect antibodies to the malaria parasite using an approach based on the Luminex xMAP technology platform using serology assay.

Rationale and Abstract
Measuring malaria infection in areas approaching elimination becomes increasingly difficult the closer infections get to zero. This relies on the measurement of malaria specific antibodies in individuals suspected of having been exposed to infection. Measuring antibodies using serologic assays provides a sensitive means of detecting infection and is capable of distinguishing between recent and historic exposure to infection where other techniques fail.
