CeroMalariaPeru: Strengthening national efforts to eliminate malaria in Peru

Objectives

This project aims to strengthen the academic support of public universities towards malaria elimination in Peru by assessing the impact of the implementation of newly developed molecular POC diagnostic tools using sero-epidemiology and qualitative methods; and evaluation the effectiveness of current antimalarial schemes.

Rationale and Abstract

The mixed research methods study takes place in indigenous endemic communities in the Loreto and Amazonas regions in Peru. Moreover, the scientific and educational activities will be carried on in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local health authorities.
