Bridging the gap between Culture and Health Care in Rural Areas of Cameroon

Objectives

The aim of this project is to understand further other aspects of culture that determine health-seeking behaviors in underserved rural settings, thus impacting access to and utilization of healthcare services in general.

This study will give light in the designing and implementation of a program specifically aimed at bridging cultural barriers (like social stereotypes, family influences, distrust, gender disparities, etc) and improving healthcare access and quality in communities identified for low acceptance of conventional health care services.
