Austin Burt: How genetically-modified mosquitoes could eradicate Malaria

Millions of people are infected with malaria each year, resulting in thousands of deaths of infants, children and a large population in Africa. In this video, evolutionary geneticist Austin Burt’s talks about his recent project targeting malaria with the use of genetically-modified mosquitoes. Based on his team’s modelling, a 95% suppression of this disease can be expected within the next four years.
