In December 2024, WHO published updated versions of the “Response Plan to pfhrp2 gene deletions” and the “Master Protocol for Surveillance of pfhrp2/3 Deletions and Biobanking to Support Future Research”.
The MESA Community of Practice on pfhrp2/3 gene deletions organized a virtual forum to explore the WHO guidance modifications relevant to surveillance planning, and share insights from recently completed country surveys conducted in Kenya and South Sudan. The event included interactive discussions and addressed the questions posed by the participants before and during the forum.
