Deep Dives
The Deep Dives are a “one-stop-shop” with descriptive evidence synthesis on a given malaria topic or research question. They allow malaria professionals to know what research (including operational research) is ongoing on a given topic in malaria – the state of the art and the emerging evidence.
The Deep Dives are performed by searching relevant projects in the MESA Track living database of malaria projects on a given research question. They are similar to systematic reviews of published evidence, but differ in that the Deep Dives collect a broader scope of methodologies and focus on active and recently completed research projects and their outputs (publications) as well as the characteristics of the projects themselves.
Selected projects are classified according to research areas, timelines, geographic locations, funding sources, principal institutions, project sites and principal investigators. A descriptive report is then prepared to illustrate the landscape of recent and ongoing research and highlights the key knowledge and funding gaps.
