Implementation of the multi-professional telehealth service to support actions to control malaria and other acute febrile illnesses in the Brazilian Amazon (TELEMAL)

1. TELEAMBULATORY:1.1 Organize, implement and optimize a teleambulatory to offer teleconsultations to patients with malaria and other acute febrile illnesses;1.2 Carry out surveillance of complicated cases of malaria and other emerging and re-emerging febrile illnesses;1.3 Identify bottlenecks in care comprehensive care for patients, and their determinants;1.4 Identify the main difficulties in caring for these patients, in vulnerable populations in indigenous areas and areas of recent occupation;1.5 Strengthen connections between the National Malaria Elimination Program and primary care (Health Strategy Family, Maternal and Child Health, etc.), in order to optimize patient care and respond in a timely manner to cases;

2. TELECONSULTING AND TELEDUCATION2.1 Provide training, courses and qualifications for secondary, higher and technical level professionals, focusing on diagnosis, surveillance, control, elimination and clinical management of cases of malaria and other acute febrile illnesses;2.2 Create educational digital library for insertion of digital materials on malaria and other acute febrile illnesses (knowledge units, educational learning objects, interactive assessment, etc.);2.3 Create interactive educational components, using the best available clinical-scientific evidence, for student qualification, based on local practical doubts;2.4 Carry out training for students and resident doctors in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, in remote care for acute febrile illnesses;2.5 Carry out reinforcement of medication adherence and pharmacovigilance of adverse events associated with the use of antimalarials, by health services;2.6 Develop a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) manual with the most frequently asked questions among professionals who deal with the control, elimination and clinical management of these patients;2.7 Develop a virtual care guide for patients with these diseases for implementation in other states;2.8 Identify problems that require advances in scientific knowledge, in order to share with research funding agencies, as priorities;

3. APPLIED RESEARCH 3.1 Describe the methodology for treating febrile illnesses and the material used in teleconsultation; 3.2 Describe the main causes of teleconsultation, as well as evaluate resolution by following up cases for a period of 30 days; 3.3 Cost-effectiveness study of the tool, using as parameters the cost of the teleconsultation project and the previous cost with TFD.
