Report of the first and second meetings of the Technical Advisory Group on Malaria Elimination and Certification (September 2022 and January 2023)

The Technical Advisory Group on Malaria Elimination and Certification (TAG-MEC) was established to advise WHO on malaria-free certification, malaria elimination and prevention of re-establishment. This report describes the proceedings and outcomes of the first and second meetings of the TAG-MEC, and particularly the findings of the independent evaluation missions to Azerbaijan and Tajikistan and the group’s recommendation that both countries be certified malaria-free. It is intended for the national programme managers, staff from ministries of health and other departments, partners and donors.
